A Putonghua workflow schools can follow
The open Putonghua bank is not currently divided into English S1–S6 levels. The first release provides 500 questions, 100 in each of five categories. Word and measure-word questions are prepared from CC-CEDICT dictionary data; sentence-recognition questions use the Tatoeba Mandarin sentence corpus. Schools select items by learner level and teaching objective, then teachers review them before setting a 10-question practice or a 15-question, 90-second challenge.

Putonghua questions schools ask
Is the Putonghua bank divided into S1–S6 levels?
Not currently. S1–S6 is the level structure for the English vocabulary bank. The open Putonghua bank provides 500 questions in its first release, with 100 questions in each category; teachers select and review items before release.
What does Putonghua practice cover?
It provides five multiple-choice categories: same-pronunciation characters, pinyin and character discrimination, Mandarin sentence recognition, word meanings, and measure-word meanings. Word and measure-word material comes from CC-CEDICT; sentence material comes from Tatoeba.
How may the bank be reused?
Each question carries its source and licence. CC-CEDICT-derived content is CC BY-SA 4.0 and Tatoeba sentences are CC BY 2.0 FR. Reusers must keep the applicable attribution and licence notices and preserve the source record.
Can students use Traditional or Simplified display?
Yes. Students can switch the displayed script; marking still uses the fixed approved option.
How does a Putonghua assignment start?
A teacher signs in, chooses the Putonghua question bank and class, reviews the items and publishes the assignment.
Are student answers sent to generative AI?
No. Student answers are handled inside LearnSys Vocab using fixed marking rules.
